Best version of Windows for SEO tools under vmware (Mac)

Just wondered your opinions on the best version of Windows to use for using various tools and bots etc as they are mostly windows based and I'm on a mac a lot of the time so will be running under VMware.

Xp has smaller footprint, or shall I just go with windows 7 as its the later OS?

I'd be interested to see what others use in this scenario.

I use Windows server 2003 enterprise, with 1gm ram. Much stable than xp.
I don't know about w7, maybe someone can share his opinion on it, or about other OS's.

XP is brain cells killer mate. Windows server 2003 enterprise is still the best imo.

It also depends on your specs, whether it is a new mac or not. I mean if you have low resources and running windows + tools + bots, your computer might get laggy
