I am planing a broad niche site, lets say it's about cars. The domain is no EMD because its a broad niche site. So I am wondering what approach on url structure would be the best for maximum SEO benefit:
domain.com/articlename
or
domain.com/bmw/articlename
or even...
domain.com/bmw/3series/articlename
Now I know that generally the shorter the url, the better, but it is easy for an EMD with a small niche - what about broad niches? Would it be more beneficial to separate the niches so google gets a better understanding of the individual niches on that domain? Silo structure comes to mind, it was said to be very effective for serps... Of course every niche would have at least 5 articles that are highly related.
thanks for any enlightening
