Hey peeps!

What do you feel is the best SEO wise way to format your URL's given this example:

You own tools.com and the search term you are wanting to hit was the term "Makita Tools" would it be best to use tools.com/makita or tools.com/makita-tools or it does not matter either way.

I don't really think it matters as much as you think. The URL should be user friendly and should contain a keyword in it.

Using your example it would be:

1) tools.com/makita for a general tools page. Like the company's page.
2) tools.com/makita/specific-tool This could be used for a product page

You can go either way. However, I would go with "tools.com/makita-tools. It's more definitive.

put hyphens and a keyword, then you are good to go!

tools.com/makita-tools.html would be perfect
