For a cheap UK host, you could try ukservers.net. The hosting is very basic and they don't have cpanel, but you can autoinstall some scripts such as WP no problem. I have some sites with them for four years and I think I had downtime on one site once.

Thanks, I'd prefer it if there was a cpanel as I've always used Hostgator and so have been used to cpanel and the other features.

I would suggest hwshosting.net - I have a couple of VPSes from them and a reseller account for a few little domains.

Its the only host that I recommend at the moment due to their uptime, support etc.
