For tracking links you need Ahrefs and Majestic because they have different strengths. The trust/citation flow are good metrics that are supposed to be more accurate than the PR/DA, etc. metrics you see on many other lists. I am new to Serpbook and really like. There's a thread with a lifetime coupon which is a nice bonus.
I used Moz in the past and it's popular with search engines. Moz is jack of several trades, master of none. It brings together some good pieces in one suite, but if you want better data you have to go somewhere else. I can't believe people use their OSE for backlinks. The data is always 1-2 years old. The Moz info is very G rated to appease Google, but won't get you to rank a site. Pass on it.
Additionally, depending on what you are focusing on Google Adwords Planner, GSA, ScrapeBox, SEMRush, Clicky (for site analytics), Linklicious (or something related).

Try the Majestic is of course the trust flow and citation flow metrics. Most importantly, the topical trust flow always helps when analyzing a site's topical data when working on semantic context for a site.

When we looked at rank tracking tools, we ended up going with AWR (Advanced Web Ranking). It had by far the best coverage of global non-Google search engines, e.g., Yandex, Baidu, Sohu, Naver, Daum, etc. If you don't care about those, then go with whatever. AWR seemed like the clear leader for global tracking.

I think the Superior SEO instrument is do SEO physically. I utilized SenukeX with awesome results, for instance. For this situation, I generally I've made my own formats. I make my layouts gave on the same guideline: They need to look human. Despite the fact that it is additional time setting up the layouts, I endeavor that constantly, all the connections are the nearest thing to what I could do by hand And clearly with SenukeX I can accomplish more.

As far as online tools, we use SEMRush, Majestic, and MOZ. Those seem to be the big three.
As far as programs, I have ScreamingFrog which is great for spidering large websites, finding 404 pages.

Link Research Tools is the best I've used, makes Moz look like a toy. Check it out - just google Link Research Tools. Also, Microsoft SEO Toolkit is great for diagnosing onsite/technical SEO issues, and pumps out detailed reports which, with a little editing, are great for clients.
Whats up guys. I'm new to BHW. Been reading posts here and there and this one seems to be what I'm looking for. So instead of starting a new thread, I'd like to ask a question here.
I'm just getting started in building a few sites for family members. One is an e-commerce site with a brick & mortar attached business in horse management and equipment such as horse saddles. The other is for a family member just getting into real estate.
What are the better tools to use to set up analytics on their sites (specifically the ecommerce site) in order to track visitor behavior? I plan on creating several landing pages and running an ad campaign to A/B test. I keep hearing Clicky, however, all I know is google analytics (novice).
The other tool(s) I'm interested is one where I can check the competition (local & afar). This could come in handy for the real estate site and the ecommerce site.
My goal is to scale these types of businesses and learn what I can along the way.
As they are family members, I'm not charging them. I'm building their sites from scratch using wordpress and getting them registered etc. Right now I use Yoast for that.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Optimizely is very useful for split testing landing pages. HotJar is a new(ish) solution to give you insights to visitor behaviour with video recordings and heatmaps. The free version of Hotjar should give you a good feel for the solution and whether it's right for you.
