I was using wordtracker(paid one) to find keywords and analyze competition. I have had success with it.

I would like to test some of the other tools available such as market samurai, traffic travis etc.

According to your experience, what do you recommend?

Any input will be appreciated.

I use market samurai and have had some good success with it. They offer a free trial to the full version. Watch the free video training they offer to help get you jump started with it.

I really find TT very useful. Many cool things. You can get it free on here. Take it for a run and see. I think you will like it.

you can also try online sources like compete.com, spyfu. If you are check heads on competition.

Go with Traffic Travis. It's free here with full features included.

Yea i just downloaded traffic travis it seems amazing havent had time to have a good sit down with it tho and try it out looks very good.

I have a gaming site that I run in my spare time and have used Market Samurai for keyword research - the video tutorials are great and once you get the hand of the software it has a load of other features as well that are nice.

I'll be happy to hear of any other recommended tools from BHW members.

The Pro version of Traffic Travis is the best tool I have used for this...very fast and no captcher's to enter...and there is a thread on here that shows you how to get a pro licence for free.

Market Samurai for finding why they rank.
Keyword Spy for taking their keywords
Keyword Spy to find all the keywords they rank for.
Compete or Quantcast for finding out their traffic stats and demographics
SEOQuake for finding out their linking pattern ( good to know if they are still gathering links)
Google Alerts, to find out where they are currently getting links and making moves.
