best tool for tracking sites progress?

I'm looking for the best way to check a pages rank and backlinks etc.

currently using this site: http://checkpagerank.net/

is there anything better i could be using?

Page Rank is not worth checking anymore and for backlinks Ahrefs is probably the best.

PR is not updating for more than a year. And one more vote for Ahrefs, as they are really good.

You should be using a combination of tools. Where a site ranks, is only part of the story. Tracking your traffic, and conversions is much more important. All which can be done through Analytics.

I would use 3 tools if i were you.

1 - Ahrefs
2 - Majestic
3 - Moz

+1 for all above tools except PAGE rank thing

also use rank trackers too like serpcloud.

Ignore page rank it means f all now concentrate on authority metrics.

Pagerank is a waste.. Ahrefs & Majestic is the best for backlinks... Moz is not that great, it is normally slow and dont find most of the backlinks..
