Go for a paid theme, free cant be best unless they have a version you can upgrade to. Genesis education theme is good.

dont pick free theme
dont use nulled premium theme from here or any other place

being a edu site, it is more prone to risk. so take care

Search Google for education/college themes and research on each that you find before choosing one. Difficult for anyone to recommend the best without knowing about all features you may be looking for.
