Hey guys,

I'm setting up a website for a local business atm.

I have to choose between the tdl of my city, the country tdl, or simply a .com domain.

What is the best type of those for local SEO?

.com, .org are good tdl for business
Local or international

Ok, let me add this to my first question: the buisness name has the name of the city in it

So would it have an seo effect to choose a city domain here, assuming that people use the city name in their search?
Or is the trust of the customers higher with a .com?

Your first choice should be a domain name for a specific country. If you live in the UK, use .co.uk. If you live in France, use .fr. If you live in the United States use the .com domain. If the domain name is not available, you can register the .net or .org domain. Don't get city domains because they have a low trust level.

1.Create a google business account
2.GET regular reviews from happy customers
3.Optimize for voice search
4.Create content based on local news stories or events
5.Optimize your website for mobile
6.Use location pages or a location-specific about us page
7.Take advantage of online business directories
8.Local SEO is more important than ever

Your country tld is better if you want to rank locally, dot com also not an issue, there’s no wrong answer.

I’d go with dot com.

Just go with the most specific one,
If you're operating in a specific state in the US, you can get the state TLD, otherwise, go with country TLD
