Best tactics for a product launch, some questions !

Ok, I've been writing a book and making a DVD for about 1 year now, and im planning on launching it.

I could spend up to 3 thousand dollars for the launch, but im just wondering what is the best method to launch a product effectevly. Its my first launch too, and I want it to do well. It is a very high quality product ive spent a year of my life developing and mastering....

Should i go paydotcom or clickbank? any ebooks i should read?

One of the key factors to a successful launch is having highly influential jv partners. If you manage to find them and strike a deal you can almost forget about advertising costs. There's a heap of info about contacting potential jv partners out there and a quick search of the forum should put you in the right direction.

In regards to which payment gateway you should use, it all depends on your niche. Both paydotcom and clickbank are great in my mind. If you don't mind telling us which niche you're in then it will make it easier for us to give you advice, but if course you probably don't want to do that.

Look up product launch formula by jeff walker...most effective for high ticket items...

I think its somewhere in the downloads section...

Ok, what do you guys think of combining Jeff Walker's "Product Launch Formula" and Frank Kern's "Mass Control" formulas for the product launch?

Forget reading ebooks or watching mass control, if you want a big launch you need big JV partners, and if your product is good, you'll get them with no problem.

I know this was mentioned above, but I want to drill it home, don't get sidetracked with learning how to product launch, just get straight to emailing and calling potential JV partners for the next couple of weeks and that will ensure you have a successful launch day.

........It sounds like this is going to be high ticket, and not to state the obvious, but make sure that

A. your web host is aware of the large traffic you may be getting on launch day

and

B. That your merchant account is prepared for a spike in sales as well as having a backup processor. I personally have four merchant accounts because I'm insane, but I also know that I'll always be able to take a payment.

Question tho, my product has to do with music creation. Are there JV partners for this niche? Is there even a market big enough to have a big launch for a product like this, i mean lists? Thanks

P.S. Yup, It is a pretty sweet product and its actually in HD Video and will come with 4 GB of preloaded sample loops.... the total package is about 6 GB.... so im thinking about calling AT0Z media to have some DVDs printed so people can choose between downloading the product or having it shipped to their house.... i dont know what do you think?
