OP, even if your affiliate offers are generic and not location targeted, when creating a site or post always use the location your traffic is coming from as a modifier so instead of tanning salon, it's san diego tanning salon (i'm sure you knew this). This will not turn off people from other locations (eg. if someone from New York saw something for Washington. People seem to not care). When building backlinks to your site, use locations as an anchor for your links.

Other than that, get creative and work in your own style, and learn the basics of converting/call-to-action.
