Been working on online reputation management (ORM) for a few months for a client now. The keyword is his full name. Negative reviews on r1p0ffrep0rt and unh4ppyfranchis33. Which websites helped you rank above the negative articles? Here is my progress so far:

Above negative article
linkedin
myspace
facebook
squidoo
slideshare

Right Below negative article
youtube vid
youtube profile
dailymotion vid
edm
behance
big g+
blogspot
lookuppage

Tried wordpress, tumblr, pinterest but they don't seem to rank well. I have not used any automated software. All articles I write are 100% unique.

Which websites helped you rank about the negative comments? Any other ORM tips will be greatly appreciated.

Try a EMD of the name, and get a shitload of content on it. You will see steady progress, but over time, that site might have like 10+ positions in the first few pages of google.

One of my ORM clients at the moment is doing pretty well (UK based). Here's some of the profiles that minimised the visibility of his negative review:

linkedin.com
prweb.com
blogpost.com
192.com
directory.thesun.co.uk
thisisbath.co.uk
facebook.com
twitter.com
justgiving.com
pinterest.com

UK client as well, in my case this is what helped:

twitter profile
tumblr
freeindex
yelp
cylex-uk
sbwire
qype
yell

Still pushing them only with bookmarks. :)

edit: forgot about crunchbase and craigslist

If it is UK based, qype.co.uk can be a good listing to hold, unless the client has angry customers.

Seems some nice help. Just had a question? Are these country specific, since the discussion shows good result on UK base.

This is the exact same problem I've been having. Someone with a high PR page got into the top five results of my client's name and has been parked there for months. The client already has a bunch of content in their name spread across several domains, with heavily-used FB and Twitter profiles, etc. so none of that helped. Originally, I was able to push the negative stuff down with a ton of EMD backlinks via RankBuilder, Scrapebox and SE Nuke but the Sept/Oct G updates completely wiped out all my work.

I'm trying to rebuild with lots of link diversity but using a person's name as a keyword is extremely difficult - spread it around too much and bloggers/webmasters know exactly where to complain. It's also really hard to embed contextual links with a name as opposed to a normal keyword. I've regenerated thousands of backlinks but they don't seem to be working - without the name in the anchor text there's no weight to the search term.

Other than the sites listed above, does anyone have any experience they would like to share in tackling this problem?

Are there any sites ranked above the negative article? If so which ones?

When I first created the edm it ranked above the negative article with a few articles on my site. Then after the update by g, i sit on 3rd page and about 15 articles on my site.
Still looking for more sites that rank high or any other orm link building techniques and etc.
