Hi I have outgrown my hosting account and would like to get a dedicated managed server or unmanaged I really don't understand the difference.

I guess managed is where you have support. Just trying to figure out which company to go with.

I'm willing to pay someone for good advice

before you make any decision

read the reviews on the company at webhostingtalk

because members here try to sell you all kinds of crap - and when your sites go offline - you lose money - this happened to me buying hosting off this forum.

so just trying to give you some advice.

try corenetworks there pretty cheap especially there "discount servers" they have A+ support to been with them for months
