Best SEO for <$1000 / month

I've spoken to a few providers here offering x-keyword SEO services for $400-700 / month, seems legit and the reviews are good (of course, the reviews are all biased due to discounts).

I've also spoken to a few SEO companies that proposed services for $2,000 / month for basically "adding the site into directories, optimizing on-page SEO, and some link building." But to me it sounds like they need to pay their rent and employees vs. offer a truly great product that will increase rank for that money. IMO $2k / month for adding pages into directories is laughable

What's the best move to get white hat SEO for $1,000 / month?

Are providers advertising on BHW worth it? Any ideas? Recommendations?

Once you clear inbox from all the shit you got, you need to do some investment here - your time.

While you might be a spot on with a lot of low grade agencies' services, there are many which would actually do the job. If you go for bits and pieces with different services on here you might not end well. Just because it's all about planning and strategy.

So invest your time - talk to providers, get custom solutions for what you need, do your due diligence. Whoever follows up, do its best to understand your needs and is knowledgeable enough, should be able to help.

Of course, that is only relevant if you're looking for help for your own websites. Reselling or using services for clients is a whole different story.

I'll throw in a recommendation for Greg and RK (BassTrackerBoats and RabbitKing), since I 100% agree with Resolution10 above, and I trust these two guys highly. But don't take my word for it, talk to them! Both are really awesome fellas, Greg has helped me more times than I can remember, and RK is on my Skype for a reason (I really do keep my Skype contacts list limited to people I like and trust).

Not saying there aren't any other good providers, there are plenty, I'm sure. Just my recommendation of a pair of guys who I know have gotten results before.

But yeah, definitely talk to the providers, ask them questions, make them explain. If they promise #1 rankings then your alarm bells should ring. They can't promise you that, no one can.

30% invest in your website, 30% in links, 30% for person who knows this things and will lead you (without steeling money but you have to pay for his time) into success or will tell you that

a) should invest more
b) change niche
c) should leave SEO and try other areas of IM

Thanks guys. We've put a lot of energy into building a great site with proper formatting per SEO standards. We need to get a good person behind the link building and optimization. Definitely some good feedback here. And will take some more dancing around with legit white hat SEO companies to find what we need.
