Best / safe way to unfollow users?

TL DR: Whats the best, or safest and efficient way to unfollow people on instagram either manually or with a bot/tool?

By the looks of it everyone is complaining about bans and bots not working properly, from BHW to youtube to blog post, honestly it looks like a big win for instagram vs botters.

So it seems the best way right now is just to do manual work and organic growth, which is fine but one big pain in the ass is how to unfollow people manually?

you dont want to accidentally:

• unfollow people who follow you,
  
• or refollow people you unfollowed. etc
• and you don't want to have an overall account with 1/99 ratio of followers to following others.

Any thoughts, tips, information and knowledge on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

Manual unfollowing seems like the only suitable option for an account you can't afford to lose.

How would you go about manually unfollowing people to avoid the 3 above points i made. In terms of not unfollowing people who followed you or refollowing same people, or letting your following count increase dramatically whilst not unfollowing.

By my XP there's nothing safe with instagram. But you can try this ( only 100 per day using a bot ) if your acc is still new try to reduce it to 50 or even below. Instagram now is very bad with theme pages owners.

One option is to scrape (using another account) a list of usernames or profile URLs that match your criteria* then go through one by one and unfollow manually in the app.

*ie. People who you follow but haven't followed you back - this list can be generated by scraping your all of your followings and all of your followers then comparing the two lists in Google Sheets, Excel or equivalent.
