Just a quick question for some of the veterans here. I have found a niche (it is my first attempt at something leaning a little towards being black hat) and done my research on it, but I have not actually built the website yet. Before I proceed i just wanted to ask what the best route for monetization would be. Basically the goal is to appeal to people's fears and offer them a solution to the problem that I present to them. Now my question is will I begin to see profits quicker with some well placed affiliate ads or would I be better off trying to buy the products at the lowest price I can find and then reselling them on the website? I have made 2 websites now and gone the affiliate route with both of them and have not seen any profit yet and wanted to know some of the advantages and disadvantages of the two options.

Hi, if the nich is not too small and has content, i'd make a useful informative sites and allowing ppl to subscribe through mail opt in form and pre-sell products through news letter. if you have traffic, the list will generate much more than banners. you can try both, but banners make it less pro.
Cheers.

Well I am not sure how well it will work out so I am mostly doing this as an experiment/test. From my research on these forums I have found that it is generally agreed upon that when targeting a niche you want to be as specific as possible. The niche I have chosen is a little bit general but the niche itself involves people producing fear amongst themselves and from what I understand scared people are people more willing to open their wallets. Some quick research on googles adwords keywords search has revealed a large volume of searches on keywords with little to no competition. This makes me think that either there is no money to be had in this niche or no one has thought to monetize it.

I definitley agree with you about making an informative page with the mail opt in form and not using banners, I do want this to look professional so I will do without the banners for the time being. I have found a few sites on this niche but they have all gone with banners and it is pretty obvious what they are doing if you have any common sense.

I am still new to IM so any information you put on here is new and useful to me and is all appreciated, thanks.
