at this moment intel core i7 2nd generation CPU is unbeatable when we consider price/performance if I have to buy now new computer I would take with core i7 2600K it almost same power as monster core i7 980X but costs at least 2X less

right but i7 is mostly for heavy music/video processing etc... a i3 will work for most of us unless you like bragging rights and wasting money...
98% of people here dont need a i7....Thats what the top pros use like people in the industries who all the do is heavy edit and make music and videos and even then a i3 will take care of music needs.

don't forget, the cpu isn't everything.
put a very powerful cpu into a crappy computer and it'll still suck because everything else will be bottlenecking it.
ram, graphics card, and hard drive speed are the other big factors that really affect performance.
if you've got a lot of money to spend then go all out and don't skimp on the other parts.

Yea I noticed with my old desktop a good video card makes a difference with speed..
