Yeah,there is no way a decent network will openly advertise anymore.It's best to create your own,costs money but done right is impossible to detect.Any network advertising is pretty much doomed because G will leave it while then hit the network once alot of people are on it.

None. Build one yourself for $500 and up. If somebody can tell you a "private" BLN, then that's not very private is it?

It won't cost a whole lot to build a small, decent one yourself (if you compare how much you'd pay month-by-month for some of these networks over a long term, you will see why creating your own is a much better deal). Plus, done right, it'll be a lot more effective.
Even if I were to choose a blog network, I'd use it once and then go for another one. This way, you won't risk losing *all* the links in case one, or a few, blog networks are deindexed.

My advice is also to spend hundreds of dollars/month on hosting and thousands of dollars on domains in order to have extremely weak results from your own personal network.

What other options are there? Even you have a private network, for the lower layers.
And I don't see the downside of building a network even if it has weak results if you realize what the outcome will be.

The results from a private network just won't be that great. It'll have to be small (100ish domains) and will be, by far, the most expensive links you have as far as time, upkeep and initial investment.
I suppose if you manage literally dozens of websites yourself, then this could be a good option. I do not, however.
I donate a lot of my private domains to services in order to link share.
If you are intending to use sites with high domain authority etc... expect to spend a ton of money, or a ton of time building links to fresh domains. If you have the time and nothing better to do, by all means.
If you're going to go with the "build your own from scratch" you may as well use free subdomains instead at first. If the strategy is to buy domains with PR and high DA, you'll spend $40-100/domain at least...

Building your own private blog network is not as easy as you think. First of all managing that shit is pretty time extensive and it is a major headache. The costs of the network is expensive if you want to do it right.
Then building links to these domains, getting PR, adding legit content etc.. Have fun with that. Really, I tried it and I won't deal with it until i have enough money to pay someone else to fully manage it and even then I dont know if I would do it.
With PBN you dont want to go cheap because in the end it just wont work at all. The only way I see it is if you do it right you might as well leverage your network by selling space on it. At least to help pay for the costs. But like expertpeon said, its much more cost effective with free subdomains and building your own public network.

I consider that the creation and usage of public networks is time consuming. You need them, but they have a limit that is reached early.
With private ones the limit can be pushed. The maintenance isn't time consuming on medium network. But the link building they need is time consuming.
It all depends on the network purpose.

That is true. So i use your own resources. Niche network, with readers, real traffic. Most of networks sucks, because they have high bounce rate, "readable" spun content and links to 20 different niche sites.
Soon test linkauthority. Okay unique content, moderation. But when detect my backlinks i see again crappy C-Class Hosting.
