Hi everyone,
I manage the websites for a home services business. Our site currently features two main types of pages: location pages and service pages, which are not tied to a specific city.
I am considering whether to retain the current structure or to also create dedicated pages for each service in each location, for example, Service X in City Y.
From your experience, what tends to work better long-term for local SEO and conversions?
What I am trying to understand is
How do you decide when service plus location pages are worth it
How to avoid thin or duplicate pages that could look like doorway pages
What must be unique on each page for it to be genuinely helpful
Whether it is smarter to launch only for top services and top cities first, instead of creating the full matrix at once
Any frameworks, real-world examples, or pitfalls to watch for would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
