Best practices for building links to e-commerce site?

Hi BHW,

What's the best way to build links for an existing commerce site? I've been building links towards my product page using web 2.0s but I've noticed they aren't ranked on google anymore. Should I be building links to main domain (www.domain.com)? or should i drive targeted keywords to my blog (www.domain.com/blog/reasonstobuythis)?

Is it possible that since I link directly to my product through 2.0s it is doing the google dance?

i'm tracking my links daily with my limited majestic,sem rush, moz open explorer searches.

Write good descriptions.

Blog about your products on mysite.com/blog and link to the product pages.

A mix of links from relevant niches and big authority sites. Send them to the main category pages.

Should I fix my 2.0s to not point to my product pages (www.domain.com/product/this.html) and point them to the main domain (www.domain.com)?
