According to a Buffer’s July 2026 analysis of 4.8 million LinkedIn posts, the best times to post on the IT sector seems to be Wednesdays at around 16:00, Thursdays afternoon/evening and Fridays from 15:00 to 16:00.

This seems to go against my personal experience, at least for the Spanish market, in which I got the most impressions of the week by scheduling my posts on Mondays at 8:00 (and the difference with other days could easily be 10 to 100x views).

Do you have any personal experience posting as a company that you can share?

Regarding the best topics for an IT firm, ChatGPT ranks them as follows, based on LinkedIn's 2026 change in their feed that puts more emphasis on content that is professionally relevant, useful and grounded in genuine expertise, while explicitly reducing generic/recycled posts and engagement bait:

#1. Interesting technical problem/challenge
#2. Strong/contrarian technical opinion
#3. “We tried X. It failed. Here's why.”

All these get the max stars for both follower acquisition as well as general engagement.

those benchmarks are useful as a starting point, but your own spanish audience data is probably more valuable than a broad industry average. technical lessons, failed experiments, and specific opinions tend to perform better than generic tips, especially when they come from real company experience.
You are right, but it takes a hell of a time to get statistically significative data. Even my own impressions after some posts might not match a broader trend for my market.

Sometimes the topic itself can make a bigger difference than the posting time. A post about something people are already discussing can get attention even if it goes out at an average time. I’d probably focus on that part first.

Is there any "trending topics" discovery tool you can recommend? Out of the top of my head I can only remember Google Trends and BuzzSumo.
