Best platform to do E-commerce shop?

I would say any platform with a plan for your own email/ecommerce/JV for on/offboarding them to.
I would say no platform works without it.
JS or WP/Woo I like for the ownership of customer data
Shopify and ilk I do not feature on, but siphoning user traffic is good.
Heard good design options, bad business options.
Same for markets, Redbubble, ebay, even OpenSea for w3b.
It depends on what you are doing and/or selling.
Other People's Platforms (OPP anyone? showing my age) Are not always wrong however
I like private twitters full of old style direct to checkout links (even works with PayPal) myself

Problem with shopify is that all its addons are extremely expensive

It depends on your budget, how you plan to promote it and how much time you got to learn to set it up. Shopify and Woocommerce needs no introduction, but other options such as Ecwid and even Wix can work well.
I know Wix got a lot of hate over the years, but in the past year or two I think they really up their game, even in terms of SEO.

I’ve had several successful ecom websites. I’ve used magento, woocommerce, prestashop, and opencart.
I like magento the best. Then woocommerce. Woocomerce is very basic. It looks and feels amateur compared to magento. But magento sucks as far as blog posts or articles. Wordpress really shines for content and you need content on your ecom store.

Newbie shopify if you apply under developer you get free account up until first 50 sales
