I've been on here a while and I must say this forum has an overwhelming amount of information. I wanted to know where would be a good place to start with black hatting websites?(seo, cpa ect. ) would it be better to learn white hat methods first ? Is there even a starting point or do you have to just jump in ?

Everyone of us has failed on a site before, but learned those mistakes, and kept tweaking it until it was right, I would say, the only way your going to learn is to jump right in, but I wouldn't advise using thease techniques on sites you cant afford to lose, until you know exactly what your doing.

In my opinion...

Blackhat = short term and money for start up or other projects.
Whitehat = long term safe income that you can rely on.

So that being said, if you have some start up capital then you should learn whitehat seo. If you learn the basics of seo and stick to the sites being whitehat they will last you a long time. For example a whitehat site with adsense and a couple cpa offers on it that also builds you a list of emails to send out to weekly or monthly is a great idea.

If you are needing start up capital then I would suggest a blackhat method to get you going. You just have to make sure that you stay under the radar with whatever you are doing. If you are doing cpa make sure that you are faking your referrer, etc.

If you need help, Google is your friend as is the search function on here. If you can not find what you are looking for start a thread.

Wish ya the best of luck.

It's true, white hat stuff is long-term skill building, and you can really apply it to the private sector too, getting jobs in traditional companies.

It can be overwhelming, but the best thing to do is just pick something and focus on it until you've mastered it, then think about expanding.

get in to cpa , own a basic site for urself. You will need them now or in the future. get accepted to cpa accounts, and outsource the accounts and take the share or learn and work on it. either ways i suggest you buy/make a very basic informative site on any niche and get started.

Blogging can be a low cost (read: FREE) way to start experimenting. Look into blogger.com and wordpress. Pick a niche you have some experience, knowledge and interest in, remember content is king, and just jump in and start trying. Don't forget to sign up for Google analytics, which is free of course, so you can keep track of what's working and what isn't. It's also completely whitehat and thus safe. Blackhat is a little more... advanced, and as previously mentioned more for short-term quick bucks. (As such be careful to keep your blackhat efforts separate from any legit work you're doing.)

Welcome to the party, and best of luck to you!

I started out making forums and running AdSense. That worked out alright for me but not well enough.
I decided to switch to AdBrite. That was awesome...for a while. I got more than 10x the amount I got from AdSense and I got it within a couple of days. AdSense took me a year to get that much.
Now I'm working with blogs and running CPA offers. This has been a goldmine for me.
It all depends on you...
