Hey everyone,

I'm looking to purchase a dedicated server. I've been using one from hostgator but their support isn't the greatest and it has been giving me problems lately. I was thinking of purchasing one from pacific host found ere: http://www.pacifichost.com/dedicated-servers.shtml and I was looking at the extreme version. Basically I'm just looking for the most powerful server I can purchase from a company that has amazing support. What are you guys using currently, any recommendations?

Thanks!

I have always had great support form HostGator when I have used them for customers in the past.

The two companies I would recommend would be hostdime and hostwinds Both of these two companies have support that is above and beyond what you would expect.

I use managed dedicated servers. Unmanaged are a pain to keep by yourself, even if you're experienced, because it takes time off from your business just for menial (but important) maintenance chores.

handsonwebhosting.com

I get a dedicated server and the option of 2 different managed services or unmanaged.

Check out Hostthename,s Dedicated servers

Also they are running thread in BST

If you are looking for great uptime and support, try media template. They host massive sites such as Sony and dell :) hope I helped.

Thank you for the recommendation.

Let me if you need a strong dedicated server along with awesome support, host the name has got everything you need.

mediatemple is a step up from cheap shared hosting plans. Might want to consider their (gs) before going full dedicated. I find them to be much, MUCH faster than hostgator or dreamhost ever was for me.

Case in point: I would open up all my blogs (about 30 tabs) all hosted on the same server at once to check stats.

When I was on hostgator, they would start timing out and only about 2 would ever load simultaneously (they would block the other 28 requests until the first 2 finished). This would take anywhere from 1 minute to 5 minutes, and frequently time out after that.

When I switched to mediatemple, they all loaded pretty much in under 5-10 seconds flat. No timeouts.

Just a thought. Speed matters and if you have concurrent users don't use crappy shared hosting.

PacificHost is terrible and i weight my say. They blackmailed me a while ago by $300 after a 2 week downtime. You heard it right.

I have some boxes with http://dedico.com/, and can't complain. They've pissed me off a couple times, but not enough to switch. And for the most part, they're on the ball.

OVH, Hetzner.de, Leaseweb - unmanaged dedicated EU - tested them, worked nice
Wiredtree - managed dedicated USA

hope it helps.

OVH is amazing took me 2 weeks to get myself validated to order direct from ovh.ie because im in USA.

50$ gets me a Quad i5 with 16GB of ram on a dedicated 100mbit port!!!

Which package you've taken?

One of my mates works for MikiPro ( http://mikipro.co.nz ), they deal in dedicated server sales & support and work with Webslice, HD, Orcon, etc... you might want to try contacting them and looking to get a dedicated server outright. It would be cheaper in the long run to host it as a colo, than to pay for a dedicated server owned by the datacentre in NZ.

Been looking for the same thing, going to look into some of these.

Hetzner and Leaseweb are pretty good. I've been using them for a while.
