I never know what to use for this,
What have you had success with?
I just read about one thats /category/postname
does that add more to the value?
Not really unless you're trying to target a keyword in the category name. /%postname%/ is your best bet as mentioned above.
Would it harm your serps any?
I end up trying to target the categories quite a bit in a few of my niches
+1, use this on all my sites, real easy on the eyes too!
/%postname%/ is what im using on all my sites.
I use /%category%/%postname%/ , especially if your autoblogging and need to categorize posts.. I thought "yoast wordpress seo" had an option to strip the /category/ anyways..
You are not supposed to use just /%postname%/ as it causes problems when your site gets big.
I don't see how it could be a problem unless your making duplicate posts on the exact same topic?
yep i only use the %postname%
Seems to have worked just fine so far.
I always use /%category%/%postname%/.
+1 for /%postname%/ -- especially on a smaller site. MFA's for example.
Separate names with a comma.
