Best Payment Processors for Digital Product Sales

I plan to sell digital products (e-books and online courses) and need a reliable payment processor. I used PayPal before but faced issues with transaction holds. Are Stripe, Square, or any other processors better for digital products? I’d also love to know how they handle chargebacks and payout delays.

Stripe is a solid choice for digital products—fast payouts, good API, and fewer random holds than PayPal. Chargebacks can still be an issue, but you can use Stripe’s Radar fraud protection. Square is more for physical businesses, so not ideal. Other options:
  • Paddle (handles VAT & chargebacks for you)
  • Payoneer (global payouts, fewer restrictions)
