Best paid hosting?

I'm a little confused on picking a host! Anyone have any tips to point me in the right direction? I plan to have a few different niches on my site where I write content about all of them, so probably a good amount of videos and images. Also, I'm hoping eventually to have one or two eBooks for sale, so I'd want to add a payment processor. I need something that won't make the site sluggish, so willing to pay for quality.
 
Advertise on BHW
Liquid web , Poweruphosting, digital ocean. Dont go with small re sellers.
 
Are any of the "mainstream" hosts any good? I just don't want to use one that will be complicated to install to Wordpress, as this will be my first site. Are Bluehost, HostGator, SiteGround good?
 
Avoid EIG group of companies like the plague (bluehost, hostgator, s++tdaddy etc). For good cheap providers I can recommend MDD hosting (not affiliated in any way). Alternatively make use of the hundreds of Digital Ocean tutorials and spin up a $5.00 droplet.

I've been using siteground's wordpress hosting and I haven't had a single problem. It was very easy to install wordpress and it seems to load pretty fast.

What you prefer Shared or VPS?

Whichever will give visitors to my site a better experience. I have funds, so it doesn't have to be free. But I do want something that is actually worth the price per month.

From performance view point VPS hosting is always better , especially if you want to tweak your server configurations , also you have your own resources (RAM/CPU) which are another important factor.

If your websites are not that popular (low traffic) you could go for premium Shared Hosting with SSD storage.

Of course VPS hosting is bit more expensive vs Shared hosting but ... worth every penny
What is your and your audience location ? What would be your average # daily visitors .

I'm in the US, so the majority of the traffic would probably be the same. Although, one of the products I plan to promote once I get the site up is really popular overseas, so if I am able to rank on the first page for it and get a lot of organic traffic then a good share of it will be from different countries. How much is VPS hosting?

I like the features and pricing on Themecloud.io, they do cloud based Wordpress and include backups.
 
For starters Godaddy and Hostgator are easy to use, also they are managed automatically so a good choice. Digitalocean is a very cheap and better choice, but then you have to manage the server on your own, if something goes wrong you end up loosing more
For other cheaper hosts, I've tried one but it ended up more expensive, it took like 2 days down time a month, and became slow as hell at least 5 times a month, so I finally changed to Ipage. Ipage is good but slow for wordpress, I only recommend Hostgator for wordpress

I'm not looking for cheap hosts. I'm looking for one that will give the visitors of my site the best experience possible, without being too technical where I can't figure out how to use it.

@Branjohn03 Depend on the resources and features you can find VPS from $10 and $20+ for semi-managed and over 80$ for fully managed VPS.

We are able to take full control over your plan and take care of everything . If your websites are legit you could have a free trail.

I'm going to give Digital Ocean a try. Do you have a recommendation on which pricing plan to choose?
