Best Operating system?

I think the best OS would have to be a Linux distro. I have used Ubuntu a lot and Bohdi, although I am going to put Tails on my portable hardrive.
 
I'm an Apple chick but most people i know recommend ultimate if you're using windows
 
Windows simply because many of the programs I need to run my business are not on Linux or Apple. If they were id probably go with Ubuntu or Apple.
 
Depends on what you are using the computer for. I'm on my macbook air right now and it reliable surfs the internet and anything else I want to do with it. I have several Linux machines, all of which reliably perform the tasks they were built for such as network storage and daemons I need to run constantly for 24 hours a day, 365 days a week with absolutely NO downtime. As far as Microsoft goes, Windows is an amazing piece of software. The only two flaws it has are (1) design and (2) implementation.
 
Win 95. It's not filled with 1.9 GB of crap that will eventually suck the life out even Cray Titan within 18 months, and when your PC finally decides to die completely you have a stack of 36 floppy disks to get you going again.

Or you may just want to try out Ubuntu.
