Best non self hosted site for local SEO

What is the best non self hosted/web 2.0 site for local business that will rank high and fast in local results?

Google +
Blogspot
Facebook
etc........

Any advice/help is appreciated.

I like BlogSpot since it's owned by Google and fell they tend to rank better though this could be debated It really depends on your preference though but BlogSpot has always worked well for me though.

While doing my day to day work, I noticed that Facebook pages comes up a lot in searches for local businesses. Also G+ Local (map block) for obvious reasons.
Then you have Yelp, Yp, etc. While not websites per se, you can use them to rank a business and provide relevant information to the searcher.


To be honest I don't recall ever seeing a blogspot result in the first page for a local business search.

Let me ask you this: How many people do you think have created a BlogSpot page that was targeting a Local Business Search? Not nearly as much as others which is why you don't see them much when doing a Local Business Search. Create one yourself for testing purposes and see what results you get. I've used BlogSpot pages plenty of times in the past and they've always done well for me. Build some links to them and then you'll start noticing some real results

I created a blogspot blog for my mom's local business and she is on #1 for all the keywords i targetted. I did same for few my friend's local business and same happened.. Ofcourse it all depends on local business competition for those keywords, but for my area things work just great with blogspot
