Anyone have any sleeper throwaway picks?
Assuming you have some extra cash and don't want to bet on the Warriors, I think the following are very compelling teams to bet on, considering the odds:

Rockets 10:1 - lets say Melo returns to form and fits his role
Lakers 10:1 - lets say they get Kawhi at the trade deadline for cheap
Wizards 150:1 - its not inconceivable for them to win the East. not likely, but they deserve better odds.
Thunder 65:1 - will be interesting to see if PG can take it up a notch

I kind of want to say boston, but 6:1 is too pricey for a clear underdog

Raptors. Won 59 games last year with DeRozan and replaced him with Kawhi Leonard who is way better. Haven't lost to any non-LeBron team in the East in 3 years, and LeBron is out of the east. Also, I doubt that Masai is going to give up Kawhi for cheap to the Lakers - they're probably going to keep him as this is the last "all in" playoff push before a potential rebuild.

i 90% agree with you, but that final 10% concern for raptors is: lets say the lakers start off the season 15-15 and in 12th place in the west. isnt is possible that lebron tells management: 'just fucking trade ingram, kuzma, and a pick for kawhi'. that scenario is what will prevent me from betting on raps... even tho i mostly agree with you and i think their bench squad will perform well in addition to kawhi

This mgith be true but Kawhiu is a gamble we have no idea what will be his attitude this year with the raptors and even if he comes in full MVP candidate mode i dont think the Raptors will be a contender this year neither even to win the East with Boston coming with Hayward and potentially Kirie again 100% healthy and with the core team coming back too.
For me personally, GSW look even stronger this yeat with the addition of Boogie even with this achiles injury.

This scenario wont happend because it already did and Kahwi was very emphatic on his position NOT to go to the lakers and be on LBJ shadows.
I was also surprise that PG13 decide it to stay on OKC and not join LBJ in LA that alone tells me something that people even tho have a lot of respect for LBJ doesnt wanna play along side him and i think it has a lot to do with Kirie leaving Cleveland.

yes and no
we dont know for sure about kawhi - he is a mystery. we know he wants to be in LA the question is now clippers or lakers.
as for PG, he simply grew close to russel westbrook and the organization made him feel like a king

Lebron James has once again rocked the NBA by going to the Lakers. It is my belief that Lebron will make Lakers into title challengers and lead them to Glory land. I don't think that OKC will be becoming NBA champions until they learn to sacrifice more. The Rockets have a better chance than them.

i think lebron will need another year so that lakers can either get another FA or another yr of development for their young guys who can become stars
