Best method to sell products from website

What do you guys use to sell your digital products?

I have a script I wrote which I want to sell on my website, but I'm not sure if I should use a WordPress eStore Plugin, or setup an e-junkie account.

Some things I want to do:
1. Setup an affiliate program
2. Build an email list of buyers
3. Sell other products
 
Advertise on BHW
I just use PayPal, does the trick for me :)

You can set return values and stuff so that people get their download after purchase.
 
the best thing is join and set up into affiliate network eq clickbank

I started to play around with PayPal but I didn't see where I could setup a way so people could get their download after purchase.

I might give e-junkie a try. For $5 they seem to offer a lot and have a way to setup an affiliate program.

I was looking at ClickBank but I'm not sure how I feel about them. They appear to be more of a eBook seller. Plus they want $50 which could get me 10 months with e-junkie.
 
Interspire Shopping Cart has an option for people to download their product after payment. It also allows you to give the download a time limit (days) until the link expires or leave it indefinately.

If you'd like to try out Paypal, look at this thread that I posted and play around with it.

As it's a WP Plugin, it's much easier than messing with PayPal code directly. Give it a look.

i prepared to use wordpress + ecommerce plugins + .htpasswd from .htaccess file... super secure ecommerce site.... :D

Can this plugin create an email list of my buyers? I would really like this option.
 
No, it does not. But there are pulgins here that do that. The first that comes to mind is by Frank Kern.

Building a list does take an autoresponder subscription. You could in theory have one installed on your desktop or server, but the deliverability rate would not be good, plus your hosting cost would go up. I would go with Aweber.

And regarding your script idea - what if you turned it into a Wordpress Plugin instead.
There are not very many people who are capable of using a script, which may take customisation, installation and tweaking. People who have that ability are often not the buyer type.

A plugin installation on the other hand is simple. Plus you get the Wordpress option for promoting it, if you are able to produce both - a free and a paid version.

To have your script turned into a plugin might cost you around $50 on scriptlance, depending onthe script of course.

But an even better one is the Maxblogpress Subscribers Magnet Plugin.

Go to this link and read what it can do, then scroll up 2 posts and download it. It's the best lead capture software I know.

Regarding the list of things I want to do in my original post: 1. Setup an affiliate program, 2. Build an email list of buyers, 3. Sell other products, I was looking for an all in one solution. I think I might give e-junkie a try because it is only $5.

I have Interspire so I might throw that on the site and use the Subscribers Magnet Plugin with it.

As far as creating a WordPress plugin goes, I could probably do that. My script isn't really a script per se, but more of a very simple input form that people can put on their site. It requires PHP so I probably should create a WP plugin for it and a template tag for them to insert it.

I use hotfile for selling digital products and set up my store on a joomla. I store my files on the hotfile drive set up an email with the link and use my joomla to automatically send out an email with the specific download link when that product is bought.

works like a charm!

Before making the form plugin go and take a look at the ones available.

Always know your competition and make yours better.

If there's sth there that your script cannot do - include it.
Sth I miss in most of the forms is inability to produce drop-down menus in multiple colums.
 
I would suggest ejunkie. Awesome program. Quick and easy to add product(s). $5 its the way to go. Load the product, put the buy button in, and you don't need to worry about shipping or anything. Just sit back and watch the money come in.
