Do not buy into Facebook like someone suggested, there is no way that it will be a good investment....
Also wine will need temperature controlled storage, which can be expensive.
As someone else suggested, you should not just step into IM with loads of money but little experience, because you will end up making mistakes. Learn a method, and then once happy, invest you earnings into it. OR look for a reputable member for a JV, just make sure you dont get done over.

investing in adwords will make you broke in the most niches since their PPC rates are rediculous

Do this if you want to do little work, just be careful when buying from Flippa to make sure you don't get screwed over. Buy from a reputable seller!

I'm in the same situation as the original poster. Most of my money is invested in gas and oil stocks.
But I'd like to establish a healthy side income. I had a Site Build It dietary supplements website for about six years that consistently netted me about$25-50 a month, a combination of Adsense and affiliate income. However, I chose not to renew it this year.
I've turned my attention to making a blog with a focus on low-competition long tail keywords. My goal is to build it out to 100 pages and put Adsense on it. I'm looking to make $100-200/month in Adsense. If I can achieve that, I'll make another one.
I would also be interested in buying established sites, but I think there are pitfalls and unseen costs in that strategy.

I've got a great idea. Tho it's got nothing to do with the internet.
I went to my first car auction a year or 2 ago. And the last time I went I got to thinking.
This local car auction is in a small community type of area. Really small building for your typical auctions. This is more open to the general public and dealers of course.
Anyways, cars go cheap and the auction company makes at least $200 - 400 per car (depending on how much it goes for. Thats just an average)
They only run 2 auctions per month. And in each auction they have at least 100 - 200 cars. And the auction only lasts roughly 2 hours tops. Sometimes 2 and a half.
So lets say you have only 100 cars.. and make $200 per car... that's $20,000 for only 2 hours of work! But I'm sure there are a few expenses involved... gotta have a couple drivers.. an auctioneer.. and people that do the registering etc but I'm sure the expenses are pretty cheap as you can hire a few people for $15 an hour or so. And I'm sure the building expenses and electricity bill aren't that expensive either.
Probably gonna cost you a lil more than $15,000 to invest in but it would be a very lucrative business in the long run if you do it right

Wow, $15,000 is quite alot of money thesedays ..
If I would have to take such a decision, I would go with something offline and there are few reasons behind my suggestion.
First of all , we all know that nothing on Internet Marketing is safe for our whole life, or at least never safer than offline stuffs.
I don't really know about your country standards or how useful $15k would be , but if it was for me .. I would invest them on a business.
I would suggest you to start a shop , small restaurant or anything else that fulfills the society needs !
For my opinion , even being a barber/ shaver is more safer than owning a website !
I mean , it's something that never ends .. while on IM , you never know if there comes a new panda update, or a new SOPA / CISPA ..
