What would be the ultimate Local Seo guide to follow for ranking a service based business in Toronto. I offer in home service but has a physical location as well. I want to rank and need backlinks!

Local Citation- Good for backlinks
If you could do something different and if you can get in local news websites then it would do well in ranking.
Your on page SEO should be perfect. Do some blogging and I think then your site would be better ranked
.

As loathe as I am to give any positive mention to The Hoth, they do have a decent local SEO guide.

It's not a bad place to start. I would also use the search function on the forums, as there are several posts from prominent members that go over this topic in detail.
