Best linkbuilding software?

Without a doubt the best backlinking software is GSA search engine ranker! I'm not affiliated with the product in anyway, i'm just a happy customer. I did recently see a sales thread for it here on bhw with a 5 day free trial period...definitely worth trying

These recs are based on ranking a medium to large site in a competitive or moderately competitive field.
Micro/mini set ups wil be a little different. If you are promoting products that might not be here in 6 months (the latest TV, current DVD releases, this seasons fashion) then Xrumer might be the best tool. I find sites linked with Xrumer alone get hammered after 5 or 6 months, so not a good idea for a site you want to keep forever, but microsite jockeys still swear by it.
Authority sites (or sites that you intend to build into authority sites) require links with content these days, so NukeX or Ultimate Demon are the two stand out tools here.

Very useful info here from someone whose opinion you can trust, thanks Scritty.
Now that we know which tool does what, next step is creating a plan of attack using these tools.
Without going off topic, now do you want to create x number of 2.0 properties pointing to your money site and hit them with the chosen tool, etc.

SB - nearly all nofollow linking, so links don't really count, if they aren't nofollow, e.g. blogengine, they may be spammed to death and of course they will be non contextual name anchor text links. In terms of spamming, the only real use is to spray your backlinks to them in order to hopefully power them up a little and (main use) index them. After Penguin I hate to say direct blasting may hurt your site :-(
Xrumer - the best in my opinion, but still not what it once was. Profiles are extremely low value and a bitch to index, forum posts are difficult to automatically post as any forum of any worth has increased spam protections. Best way is to get a custom setup with Xrumer, if you do it right you can get an OK success rate, but not anywhere near a browser based solution e.g. ubot because XR is raw POST/GET operated hence not able to process things like javascript (or very very limited custom coded by Botmaster). Custom setups will the vast majority of the time require external captcha solving service thereby negating the feature which many newbies buy it for, the automatic captcha cracking. Technically, you can rip through links because XR is not browser based and extremely efficient/stable, but if you're submitting 10s of thousands of links you will need one good quality, big ass comment file. I am talking 10-20 megabytes here, so what does this mean? Well, for some reason, probably due to coding which I don't understand, the 'spinning' processes combined for each comment submission can only occupy 1 single core. Therefore even if you have a quad core you can't run above 10-15 threads for large heavily spun text files. Why is this important? Because this is 2012, you can't be submitting jibberish. There are many concerns with Xrumer, the above among many, hence it is not as easy to find success with it as it once might have been.
SENUKE - haven't used it, but there is obviously a need to auto create web 2.0's however once again a major concern is where are you going to find good quality, unique content from? If you are doing this properly it is once again hardly a push button solution to a lack of backlinks.
Sick submitter - now, unfortunately for my soul, I have used this once quite a lot. I've created simple templates with it and while it is much better than what it used to be, the browser is limited compared to, say, ubot, therefore it cannot do a lot of things. That being said, since it is a browser based solution it can tackle a lot of platforms that Xrumer cannot. HOWEVER, a major weakness of it is its shitty spinning. Xrumer and AMR are pretty damn fast at spinning even hugely complex files, well done to the devs on this, with Xrumer obviously being the best of them all in this respect. But Sick submitter is just not viable for mass submission. So ironically they create a fully functional browser based submitting solution but then screw up on one of the final parts. Do they expect us to submit the same text to 10000 sites? Either way, as it is this program will just waste your time even though it is promising.
ubot - this program is a real fucking shame, because let me say that the browser freaking kicks ass. It is very intelligent and can handle almost any kind of button/form/checkbox etc that you throw at it, in ANY language. With more difficult platforms you need to show persistence, but it will come around in the end with some creativity. And if you still can't identify the form it has a crazy 'image recognition' feature that allows you to take a snapshot of the image and ubot will recognise it as the form to fill in. However all this functionality comes at a price. The browser is extremely resource heavy and will cripple even the high end PCs today with a thread count which would be seen as childsplay for Xrumer, e.g. 20. That is even without trying to spin comments, which is basically out of the question for ubot. ubot is the slowest of them all at spinning, and can only spin simple things, tiny files, like 100 usernames or 10 passwords or something. With the freedom you have with ubot it is possible to find workarounds to that, but there are some disadvantages to the workarounds I made. ubot is also quite fiddly, for example, SB/XR being multithreaded and being able to support proxies and switch useragents is something we take as standard in linkbuilding software, but ubot is not designed specifically for any of these things so you have to code it all from scratch which does take some knowledge. If you manage to get a working bot, the problem is that ubot is very unstable, it can crash after 20 mins to 2 hours (absolute max.) It's not suitable for 24/7 running unlike, say, Xrumer, so ubot despite its promise is not viable as a linkbuilding software. It's more suited to creating email accounts quickly or automating tasks in 10-20 mins quickly, not for 24/7 running as it can't.
AMR - I used to use this a lot back in the day, until article syndication links became noticeably weaker and directories got flooded with spam. So it's not AMRs fault as a software per se, but in terms of linkbuilding it is now obsolete. I still use it for pre-spinning (to output spun articles to a directory) and the spintxtr tool. Worth the price just for those things.
All in all it's becoming harder and harder to link automatically without it either being ineffective and wasting your time, or you getting slapped. It's possible but tools are really just tools. If you use any of them 'out of the box' you will fail period.

i will suggest to you for best results manual linkbuilding is best way.

DON'T hammer your web 2 straight away (sorry about the caps - needed your attention)
The good WEB2 blogging style platforms now seem to monitor the backlinks made to users profiles, essp new ones. You do want to backlink them at some point, but let them mature, and do it a little more slowly than before.
There is room for manual linking. I do it all the time. However, automation - essp if you have a lot of URL's to link - is essential for most people. Remember, Google has no hard and fast way of knowing whether an article, bookmark, WEB2 blog is manuallly created or not.
If you create using good content, don't spam the same content too often, build links in a "start slow and accelerate based on the size and authority of the site in question" kind of way, then automation works just as well, if not better, than it ever did.

I'll be honest, it's almost something I wish I hadn't started..but it's underway now, I just hope we can draw some real conclusions at the end and it's not another clusterfuck of jumbled data
Anyway... what I am pretty certain of is that using the methods of 2010 will now get you into trouble.
The tools are the same, it's the way you use them that needs to adapt.
And let's face it, this is BHW. If manual baklinking is what you are really after, you'd be better off joining this discussion on the SEOMOZ forums not here.
