Go with a MacBook. Smooth as butter. Can handle heavy work as well. I am also using.

This is an odd question, SSD and RAM matter a lot, but are not everything, if an employer paid me I would go for the top model HP spectre without hesitation, but I do not mind working on Windows. Others prefer MacOS, OS/toolchain compatibility is very important, too.
Spectres sometimes have trouble when working with VMs and Macs outperform them on single core metrics at times.
You also have not said new vs used or price range.
As a not Mac fan, Macs are likely best anyway.
