best laptop for up to 1000$?

Hello guys,

My cousin asked me if I can buy him a laptop for up to 1000$. Do you guys have any suggestions? He is not a gamer or something, but still he wants a strong beast.

Any suggestions and experiences? I know I had a ton of issues with Dell's laptops

Oh yeah I mean the best I could buy him for 900-1000$ :)

I don't recommend HP laptops.
 
If you live in the USA and near walmart you can get some really dirt cheap laptops for almost 50% off. I got the HP Omen 15-ax250wm, 15.6" Full-HD IPS Display, Core i7-7700HQ QC Processor, NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti 4GB Graphics Card, 12GB Memory, 1TB Hard Drive ( regular price $1000 ) but I got it for $450 due to some pricing error at walmart.

You have to monitor website like slickdeals or brickseeker to find those rare deals.
 
Why is no one talking about dell xps 15 series ? I own one and can really vouch for it effectiveness and durability.
 
Goto costco and get the HP Envy 13" high end model. That's a steal for the black Friday sale and plan B would be getting the HP Spectre directly from hp site.
