Best Keyword Research Tools 2018?

Hey,

Am finally going to invest some money in to some keyword research tools. I know there's quiet a few to choose such as ahrefs, semrush, ahref, kwfinder etc etc. I really want the best value for money with the most features, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Secondly am after a solid backlink checker tool that allows me to check out my competitors backlinks?

You might as well get Ahrefs, as it can be used for keyword research and to find competitors backlinks.

I suggest you buy Your keywords first, from an experienced researcher. It will give you a good idea of where to tap when you get tools. Market Samurai is great for beginners, the training is foundational and universal. In my opinion, the training is better than LongTail university.

I use all three tools by the way. Each one had a unique advantage.

I've been using kwfinder a lot. Great for writing big pieces of content because you can get the top searches that are related to the main keyword. For example if I input laptop cases, I get this:



Obviously this is not a niche I would jump into due to the competition, but it gives you the top terms to pack into your main silo article. You can use each term as a header and write a lead in and link to each individual article. Saves me a lot of time and money. I perfer KWRevealer and keysearch for keyword difficulty checking

Lsigraph is good for expanding on blog topics with keywords that are related to the main keyword that you're targeting.

The best tool for finding the competitors keywords is Semrush. For long tail keywords, you can also give a shot to long tail pro.

If you are asking what tools you need for KW research then you are probably fairly new to SEO. If you know about KW research you can get by on a free tool like KW planner. Ahrefs is good but there are many other variables that you need to know that a KW tool won't tell you. You might be better buying a low comp KW and learning from there, how to rank it etc. than spending loads of money on tools and not doing it right and wasting money.

If you are starting out and you bought a KW and you only made you $20-50 a month. Then you have made a good start and can build on that. Your first task should be ranking anything and building from there.

You want a few things in a KW

1. Buyer Intent
2. Low comp
3. Enough Monthly search to make you money

No tool will show you hidden PBNs. If you pick a kw that is ranked with lots of high authority PBNS. Then you could piss money away and spend months trying to rank without actually ranking.

I have a question lets say for example i am targeting the keyword 'what is mold' Would i use that keyword as the main title of my article? What would be the best content to write about in the article, all the keywords related to 'what is mold' am guessing? Does yoast tell you how many times you have to mention your main keyword in your article?
