Best Keyword Reaserch Tools for SEOs

I'm looking for a very good keyword research tool. I don't look for niches o do affiliate, so Market Samurai is not really for me. I do SEO for clients.
I need a better research tool.

Does anyone have some favorites? I heard about Traffic Travis, but that's it.

Any suggestions?

I don't see a big difference from doing affiliate and working for clients.

When you search for niche markets, you just need some volumes and competition. Market Samurai only gives you info form the Google KW Tool (and it's not working for me, but thats another point).

What I'm looking for is a software that does:
- Good keyword research and suggestion (with the option to select specific countries)
- Good competition analysis.

Do you have some recommendations?

I use Market Samurai all the time for keyword research and SEO for clients, but ok, here are some more tools:

Micro Niche Finder (pulls from the same data, so probably you will have the same issues)
Ryan Deiss' Cherry Picker software (find it over in the "Get" section)
Here's a Yahoo tool: http://www.vretoolbar.com/keywords/
Here's a Microsoft tool: http://adlab.msn.com/

Or you could use Wordtracker, Wordstream, KeywordSpy, or SpyFu. Does that give you enough options?

In MS, you can choose Countries when establishing a new file. For competition, it can show competition pages and competition titles in general view, and more details of top 10 in "seo competition" view. Isn't that enough?

If MS is not for you, you can try "Rank checker" from SEO power suite package. It could fetch data from various sources.

Try seo suite. Rank tracker is good for tracking rankings, doing BASIC competition analysis (volume and # competing sites mass keyword check, calculates kai which I personally do not find very effective but well...)
and does what you requested, I think. you can try the free version...

And market samurai or better traffic davis(because you can do it with the free version) do a deeper competition check for a given keyword, the top 10... things like pr, domain age, domain bl, page bl, onpage seo etc...

and to go even deeper and check what kind of backlinks one of your competitors has - use seo spyglass or traffic davis... I guess spyglass is better.

if you can afford it, rank tracker and spyglass come with customizable reports for your customers... I thought about it, but its way too expensive for me.

If anyone knows a software that does a top 10 serp competition analysis like traffic davis/market samurai but automatic and with a proxy list for a list of keywords PLEASE PM ME!!!!! :)

I use Market Samurai, but I think that there must be better alternatives for more in deep SEO research, tracking and reports.

Dude, the Enterprise edition of Seo Spyglass looks awesome! I'll use the free trial and maybe I have found what I'm looking for!

Get the unlimited version of Traffic Travis, it shows the PR..backlinks etc. etc. keyword density and so much more! I think its shared here somewhere if you can afford to then buy that and market samurai and micro niche finder.

What would be the key differences with MS? I mean, on evaluating competition (and on KW if there are).

Guy, I wasn't expecting such a great response. This has been A LOT more useful than SEOMoz Q/A (and I pay for that!).

Btw, the biggest difference in pro and enterprise is that you can print and export data and reports. The analytical functionality is the same in both I think. All analytical tools are available in the free version too, but less reporting(You'll see something like "buy pro to see more" or something).

EDIT: OMG... I am not a thanks virgin anymore... I will always remember you! :D
 
Nothing is more accurate than running an adwords campaign for the exact term. Everything else is usually out by a long way.
 
You may want to check out IBP - Internet Business Promoter. There are allot of resources in there keyword module. You can perform research with google using any of the top search engine in any country. Plus they have there own database called - Keyword Index.

Also If you need to perform keyword research for different countries. You can still use market samuri. All you need to do is perform targeted research on your clients niche, Find the best keywords, then check them using google trends to find out where the majority of the traffic is coming from.

In my eyes there is no better keyword research tool than marketing samuri. especially for seo. There competitive analysis module work great for finding good keywords with low competition.
 
Traffic Travis is nice toy available for free in downloads section.

But real SEO/IM guy will not use tools for market and niche research.

Google is your only tool you need - use it wisely.
 
IBP is a good choice.. if you are interested in ranking with google
