I've decided to move away from 1and1, they used to be good but slowly have been unsatisfactory.

Who do you use or recommend? Thanks!

And I don't care about offshore/bh friendly. These will be legit sites.

I assume you're talking about shared Linux hosting, correct?

If so, you'll find plenty of supporters of Hostgator around BHW. However, I would strongly urge caution with Hostgator. They have plenty of supports, but more than their share of detractors. People using the minimum of resources will typically be fine with Hostgator, but trying to take advantage of their "unlimited" options will likely wind up in a suspended account. Note that they don't have especially great prices either. Take a look at Downtown Host. They are an excellent choice and have especially good prices if you're willing to pay in advance. HostDime is another very good option. If you're looking at a Linux VPS, Known Host is the cream of the crop. I can supply several other good options for a Linux VPS if you're looking for a VPS.

I've been with site5 for three years. Hosted a few whitehat sites on there and never had a problem with them.

    Will look at site5.

I already knew to steer clear of hostgator just based on their horrible prices both for hosting and domain registering. And nah, I don't need a VPS just looking to move some of my random niche sites to a new host.
