I use a company called dreamhost and they are simple as far as wordpress install. They have a one click install and bam your done it is that easy. However The are a little more on the higher end. I know alot of people use hostgator.

Yeah I've been looking at hostgator and they are pretty cheap and that's what I'm looking for. The best and cheapest hosting site. How many daily uniques would I need to pay off the hosting costs?

Are you going to stick with one website only?
If you are thinking of scaling up and maybe getting a few other ones, I'd recommend you using hostmonster . It's around 85 dollars a year and you can host up to 1000 domains. Unlimited space, unlimited bandwitdh... I've been with them for a few months now , and I'm really happy.

Are there any sites where I can pay per single month? I don't want to pay for an entire year and then end up shitting the bed or something. Also are there any things I should look for when picking one?

I use host gator myself. Only because i began with them and have everything sussed.

You can pay monthly with them if you like, either via cc or gaypal...

Search the net for coupon codes, im sure if you type in "green" you get a 20% discount...

@Scarlet...i didnt know they banned accounts mate...shit ive just paid 6 months up front!!...any ideas why they ban???

Hostgator for me - yes they do ban some accounts but you do have to be quite naughty to get a ban as far as I can see.

If you are low on funds initially, go for ZYON.com for just $1 for the first month. and after that $5.95 per month. And as a customer I can say their support team is good and fast. I have had some issues and got them fixed on the fly. hmmm, ok you can host your blog there, blogspot and wordpress both. they have cpanel and almost all of the features you'll need.
    Hope it helps.

gator's tendency to suspend accounts at a whim has been mentioned here on more than one occasion. one reason stated was people accusing someone of spamming, and gator shutting down the account until the person proved they were not spamming.

in my case i had some homemade scripts that they didn't understand, so they (naturally) accused me of being a spammer and of harvesting emails. and then they shut down my entire account.

i had to spend an hour on the phone with tech support explaining what the scripts did, after that they reinstated my account. once i get my things in order i plan on moving to another host.

at gator all it takes is one accusation, or a suspicion of wrongdoing, and you're guilty until *you* have proven yourself innocent.

There are so many good providers up there that it would be really hard to recommend one. It's so subjective. If I were you I would find a good name provider with a good deal, stay with them a year or so, check them out. If they are good - fine, if not, find another one and move your blogs/sites there. Till you're happy.

go in the cloud, if you are serious about a website and getting, and scalability. rackspace is the best out there.. you can pay monthly, or hourly (as low as .15 an hour I believe), so when people aren't using it you dont pay, but it scales without a problem, so as more go (more money in ads) more you pay..

Don't know about the best hosting

    I use godaddy and dreamhost

at the moment at dreamhost theres a code host90 it will give you $90 off any yearly plan plus the $45 setup fee is waived and just at the moment you get a free trial too

the code was from h**p://underscorebleach dot net/jotsheet/2005/08/dreamhost-promo-code

and is nothing to do with me.
