Please mention your requirements and budget. What kind of blog are you planning to start?

Hostgator is the best? Are you kidding me? At least not for me... Try good providers like hostwinds, bluehost etc... You can always change your hosting, so don't worry at all.
    Peace!

You are going to get many suggestion from BHW members based on their own experiences. So why don't you check reviews of hosting companies?

Guys please don't suggest "BlueHost", It's the worst hosting I have ever experienced. 2 days ago I requested my client to change hosting due to shit hosting speed.

    My Personal Recommendations

    Traffic Planet
    Name Cheap VPS
    Serveria

If you are low on budget than start with free hosting from fa5t.us but if you want some good hosting then go for Hostgator or BlueHost. They work very well.

Lots of hosting providers out there. Whoever you choose just be sure they keep up with the technology, have solid support and offer reasonably priced shared hosting with easy upgrading options.

I recommend Godaddy for domain registrar. For hosting, not different along the provider, you should try the cheapest, pay monthly first.
