Hands down Photoshop for me. Expensive and a learning curve, however tons of tutorials online. You should be able to find an online copy somewhere.

1) Photoshop, 2) Corel Draw, 3) GIMP. PS is totally killing it. I'm using free PS3 and can say it fulfills all my design needs.

Dreamweaver or Muse in combination with Photoshop

For Raster Graphics:
Paid Application > Adobe Photoshop
Freeware Application > Gimp

For Vector Graphics:
Paid Application > Adobe Illustrator or Xara Designer
Freeware Application > Inkscape

For Website Design:
Paid Application > Dreamweaver
Freeware Application > Wordpress

If you're willing to pay for it - Photoshop.
If not - GIMP.
Simple as that.

Photoshop for sure. I actually use Fireworks a lot for web design, thought many seem to look down upon this:p.

I personally prefer rapid front-end frameworks like bootstrap, foundation, etc.

Mockup with Photoshop (or paint*net/GIMP), convert to vector with Illustrator (or inkscape), then put those shiny graphics to use in a stupid-simple framework like the above-mentioned ones.

If you're planning on using WP for your CMS, bootstrap and foundation have a ton of "blank" framework themes so it's pretty much as easy as dropping your CSS file in the theme and BAM....wordpress ready.

5 years ago I would have said Photoshop, but PSD to HTML is pretty much dead now.
Get a CSS framework (bootstrap, foundation et. al.) and design in html+ css3 right away. Unless you want something "artsy", you don't need photoshop.
Rounded corners, shadows, transition effects - css has it all now.

Photoshop for me. It will take you a while to learn it, but once your through with it the benefits are huge.

Photoshop is a brilliant tool for graphic design: there are lots of free tutorials and templates to get you started. If you want to make websites, you will need to spend time learning how to code sites from photoshop to html or php though.

Dreamweaver is a great visual website editor, even with no experience you can set up a nice html site within a few hours.

If you have no experience or desire to be original, Wordpress makes it easy to great professional sites within minutes, even with the free themes.

Photoshop and adobe illustrator both are the best for this graphics market

I only know photoshop for now. So I suggest to use photoshop for design.

designing a website on any tool is not a big deal main thing is you have to learn that how to bring the idea on the canvas.
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator are the main tool for it
