It actually very much depends on what the best free theme will be. You see, it depends if you are going to run just a standard blog for your thoughts, if you are getting into affiliate marketing you are going to want it to be pretty, and if you are going to run a news website you are going to want a different type of them again.
Is it just a blog you want? a website for things such a promoting or selling a service, or both?
Also, try to stick with something that uses Elementor or Divi. All the others are too wanky.
