Hello,

I'm new to Ecomm and was wondering if keyword services are essential? I've heard of Mozbar, Majestic, SEcockpit, Ahrefs.

Are these services needed in your opinion and which one is the best for finding niches etc.?
Also, does anyone know of a way to get these services for free?

Thanks!

Google Webmaster Tools. Google Analytics. Google Adwords' Keyword Planner.

The top three free tools. Period.

Free is tricky, but lets try to squeeze the lemon:

neilpatel.com/seo-analyzer/ (Website analysis and improvement)
screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/ (website analysis and improvement)
netpeaksoftware.com/checker (Check all Metrics, bulk)
serps.com/tools/rank-checker/ (free rank tracker)
moz.com/researchtools/ose/ (link research and discovery)
keywordtool.io/ (keyword research)
similarweb.com/ (website review)
moz.com/tools (many tools)
tools.pingdom.com/ (website speed test)
incapsula.com/cdn-content-delivery-network/ (Free CDN)
seoquake.com/index.html (website review and analysis)

This should get you started.

Yes, If you know everything and have time to do yourself, you dont need these service.
Otherwise you have to get these services.
Keyword service is much essential according to all money makers around the world. There are many things to look at when choosing best keywords for your ecommerce website.

If you need Product keywords and buyer intent keywords just ask us, we will give you idea how to find them.

You can get more free services in Google but you won't get access to all the features. So, try to go with the cheap price services and effective ones.
So in my suggestion, you can check the Serplab and SerpBook for KW ranking. For KW research check KW finder and SemRush.

Some of the tools/services you mention fulfill different purpose. You need to think about what you are looking for, and then segment seo tools appropriately.

There are keyword research tools for example that help you discover new niches and how easy they are to rank (check the one in my signature, has a free plan by the way).
There are backlinks checkers, like majestic and seomoz, that show you the backlinks your competitors have and they are used for competitor research.
There are rank trackers services that help you monitor your serps positions and tell you where you rank in google and for each keyword, etc..

When you try to work with all of them at the same time, it may look overwhelming. But if you segment them according to their purpose, you see they actually make a lot of sense.

Most of the seo tools have a free plan for you to try out, either as a trial for 14 or 30 days, or free for ever, but limited in scope.
