Best Free Plugin for Word Press Image Compression

Helping a neighbor to optimize her WP website. She used something called "Short Pixel" and it gave her an error message saying that 12 images "can't" be optimized. I suspect it's a problem with the plugin. Don't want to get too deep into this website since it's a neighbor and I don't have direct access. She talks to me, I talk back and then she does stuff on her website. It if were mine and I had full-control I'd dig in deeper.

So, I'm looking for a fast easy answer. Different plugin?

EWWW Image Optimizer has been my go to for quite sometime.

You may already be doing this I would just add that tools.pingdom.com is a way to find out what is bogging down your load time very easy to target the bloated script, huge imgs etc...

I have used WP Smush.it in most of the websites I work on. It's really good in compressing the photos without depressing the photo's quality. It also helps you rank your site higher in search engines. Let me know if it works
