I m hoping to get a list of the best ones

for backlink indexing: linklicious free version (webbased app - creates rss feeds of your links then pings them)

Man, the advanced search button holds the keys to the kingdom (well the IM one)
Not really sure what kind of tools ya are looking for: scripts, seo tools, etc.
