I can export into the following formats. Can someone tell me which is best for YouTube.

(if you're feeling really expansive, maybe you can tell me why too. I don't know crap about video)

these are my 4 options:

Avi Jpeg
Avi Raw
Frame Server
FFMpeg video

Is FFMpeg Video and MP4, that is a pretty standard format.

It's stated by YouTube that MP4 is the best format for uploading. It provides better quality than FLV and is not as heavy as AVI. WMV HD format seems to lose its quality while 3GPP and MPEG-PS resolutions are too small.

The most recommended format is MP4 which overlaps all the advantages with small file size, high compression rate (for high quality) and popularity. MP4 includes two video Codecs, namely, MPEG4 and H.264, which are both widely supported, together with AAC (2 Channel - 8 Channel) and MP3 as audio Codec.

Are MP4 and H.264 both FFMpeg video?

I am using Blender (a open source 3D graphics/animation/design) application.
The outputs I see on it are the ones I listed, however, they are not the only outputs it seems to support. I just watched a video where a guy had more formats to export his work in.

Maybe there is some sort of add on, or perhaps I can get a converter or something. Because FFMped video is as close as I get with Blender 7.9.

Edit........
It looks like Blender 7.9 splits output and encoding. So if you go to FFMpeg Video and then go to encoding you can select H264 or whatever. Thanks
that, apparently, is new to 2.79

Thanks again
