Indexing is the way around link profiling.
Good indexing creates links to your new URLs and gives them more authority.
Google knows where all the crappy links are coming from and filter many new automatically create links out. Filtered links will never get indexed by themselves and all the time/money/energy spent creating them is wasted

Why do people have problems getting their sites indexed? Every time I work out the nameservers and install WordPress or begin working on my e-commerce site, I see my website indexed in less than a week. I would say let Google find you naturally because it shouldn't take that long. What I do is create a Twitter account immediately with my site in the profile so maybe that's how.
Unless you mean indexing backlinks, in which case, that's debatable whether they need to be 'indexed'.

Man i'm doing something wrong.. I've been working on my site for 2 months... Opened up twitter, facebook... Yet , little views. and i have only around 3k search for my ottawa car wash..... How are you guys getting it indexed quick like this?

Pretty sure I read somewhere that G tracks newly registered domains, at least for .com (I think they also track .org and .net too).
So to get indexed, buy a new domain, and put some content on there asap (Like a "whitehat" webmaster would).

I can't say I've set out to test this theory, but I've never had a problem getting a newly registered .com indexed.

Most of the backlinks won't get indexed ever if you don't force them to. To look it more natural, you can always drip feed index them rather than waiting for Google to get them indexed in vain..
