but it is going to be a costly affair.... can you please provide me with a rough idea about the minimum investment required to sat up such an infrastructure?

I would recommend AWeber to be an excellent platform for businesses. It is cheap in price and provides reliable email service.
Other than that, you can try MailChimp.
