Magento is power hungry, needs a well powered server and some basic knowledge but if you're going to have lots of SKU's, need plenty of features, etc, it's my choice everyday + the SEO features are on point.

Magento looks good and can handle a lot but some have complained about SEO for magento, not exactly sure why but I see this from time to time.

Like everything else, the most value comes by looking at your own needs. Here are some considerations:

How many products do you have?
Who will manage it? You, the client, or someone you outsource to?
What kind of sales volume do you expect?
How much can you afford to invest?

The higher these values, the better the solution you should seek. WooCommerce will be cheap, but if you need a custom site it will cost a couple $k.

I see this as well and it baffles me! When it's compared to the other open source platforms out there, I think it wins hands down. Of course this is just my 2p, you need to be comfortable with the platform you're using.

Woocommerce FTW. Super flexible, very intuitive and has all the features that most folks would require and more.
